I couldn't put this little book down--I read it all in one day because it was so compelling。 This book was written specifically to mothers who have a child who has died, and although I've had a miscarriage, I've never had an already born child die。 However, I foster young children, and this book was tremendously helpful to me as I deal with the grief of losing these children from my home。 The grief is remarkably similar, which I was able to see even more clearly through reading this book。 This b I couldn't put this little book down--I read it all in one day because it was so compelling。 This book was written specifically to mothers who have a child who has died, and although I've had a miscarriage, I've never had an already born child die。 However, I foster young children, and this book was tremendously helpful to me as I deal with the grief of losing these children from my home。 The grief is remarkably similar, which I was able to see even more clearly through reading this book。 This book helped me know that I'm not alone--that there are those who would know the pain I feel。 Most of all, though, this book was a reminder to me to trust that God knows what He's doing with the little ones that have come under my care for a time。 This book was full of wisdom about how to deal with all that will come my way when I undergo this grief of losing a child。 For example, Carol gave an example her mother gave her of when she took a doll away from her son for a time。 To the son, it felt like forever before he would get the doll back, and he didn't understand why he couldn't have it。 The mother knew it would be a short time, and that it was necessary for him to not have it for that time。 This is like God taking our children from us--it's part of His perfect plan, and it is needed, even if we can't understand it here on Earth。 This perspective shift was comforting for me。 I recommend this book not only to those dealing with the grief of losing a child, but really to anyone dealing with grief at all。 。。。more
